Saturday 25th April 2015 – a day I will never forget. The A Team had to focus their ‘Gameheads’ for just one more day and we did it better than ever before. Our daily ritual of debriefing our performance of the day has enabled us to be a highly motivated and efficient team which in less than 2 weeks has us operating fantastically. I was pretty low this morning, tired, cold and in pain. For the last few nights I have been waking up at 0200 because my legs hurt so much. I have read so many horror stories about taking pain relief whilst long distance running, I have avoided having anything in my system for my runs. There was just 16 miles to run today – deliberately kept this leg short so that Faye and I had time to register for the London marathon tomorrow.
I was joined on the run by Gaynor for a few miles which was a real tonic and before long I had forgotten about the pain again. The support today has been tremendous and it seemed that people were hooting me for the entire 16 miles. AMAZING. More amazingly was a crowd at the finish line! Thank you all for coming along, it really made it special!
As always, we have a little video of tte day for you all, but I really need to thank some people first…..
To my supporters and all of you who have donated – you are fantastic people who have helped us raise over £25k for Children with Cancer UK. This money will go a long way to stamping out childhood cancer – thank you so so much.
To all of my sponsors – your kit, equipment, transport, money and support has really helped make a difference. You have all been terrifically supportive and great to work with.
To The A Team – Gilly, Pete, Faye and James – this has been super special and would not have been possible without your tireless energy, support and professionalism. I will love you all forever. x
Here is today’s video – roll on the final marathon tomorrow…………..
