Great weather for a lovely 20 mile run. Sore nipples now though!
After the great benefit of resting 2 months ago for a week, I have had another week off training. This time forcably introduced by an infection to combat. Seven days of no training, interspersed with a few glasses of wine has left me feeling well rested, but I have to say, rather lethargic! Travelling on business this week, so I am hoping to dig deep and get plenty of gym time. I think that I am broadly on track with the training. My goal was always to try and get marathon fit before the end of the year. With only 6 weeks left to go until then, I think that I should be able to knock out a marathon by then without much problem. Then, training will change quite significantly and will focus on back to back running – something which I have already found to be quite painful!!!!! Starting to realise though……..this challenge will not really be based on my fitness at all. No matter how fit I get, I know that by day 3 I will be absolutely exhausted and there the mental aspect of the challenge will start!!!
