I have just received some terrific nutritional advice from High Five and gave their products a good workout today. Very very impressed. I would say it was probably the easiest 18 miler I have ever run!
Yay! Up to 3*8 mile training runs at last. That puts me on 42 miles running, 8km swimming and 6km rowing per week. Still feeling great, resting heart rate down to 40 bpm now. Just as well, November will see yet another significant step up. Many thanks to all of you for your fantastic support!!!!
So last month saw a total of 76 miles run, but that did include a rest week. I have now turned up the intensity and try to run 3*8 miles plus a long run at weekends, whilst still doing the swims on my rest days. All seems to be going well and still no niggles (touch wood!!!). I have found that the magic of Milk seems to help me recover terrifically. I make sure that I have a pint after every session and actually seem to be over the slight aches very quickly. Given I am no spring chicken, I am really encouraged by this as when I came up with the multi-marathon idea, one of my biggest worries was recovering after training runs. So far so good!!!!!
A big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me! We are now fast approaching £5,000 for Children with Cancer. Thank you all so very much. I promise you that when your legs are burning and you hit the ‘wall’ the thought of such a great amount of money being put to good use for children with cancer, makes my chest puff up, I get a lump in my throat and then I seem to just forget about the discomfort. Thank you all. Xx
