Training going very well this month and I am finally managing to get 10 sessions a week in! Sponsorship is going from strength to strength. As I write this, I now have over £3,600 pledged towards Children with Cancer. HPEMS have very kindly committed to procuring my pulk (sled) for the expedition, so I hope to order this within the next week. Can’t wait to see it and hopefully use it this winter for training (assuming we get some snow of course!!) I am also now in discussions with 2 more corporates with respect to some fantastic sponsorship arrangements too, so watch this space!!! I appeared in the local press this week – check out the article here Tyre dragging continues – I may start to ‘double-up’ from tomorrow
After a number hard pushes, a restful month was needed. I have read somewhere that it is important not to push day in, day out for too long. So: 26 Miles Cycling 10 k (yes only 10!) Rowing 28 Miles Running 960 Flights of stairs – up and down I have started Stair Running now before work in the morning. I work in a 16 story building which has two flights of stairs per level. Running up and down 4 or 5 times with a Rucksack full of bricks really does get the heart started first thing. The first few times really hurt and I was walking like a cowboy for nearly a week, but a few weeks on, no problems. It makes a noticeable difference to my running (far easier!) too, so I think that if I stick to it my training will benefit immensely. As a result, at long last…….my waist size is reducing, albeit my thigh size is increasing!!! The Virgin Money charity site was launched this week, so please click here to donate towards the fantastic Children with Cancer charity and support me on my Expedition.
