This week I have had final confirmation that Jacks of Dunmow are going to help me source the necessary equipment for the Expedition to the North Pole. Jacks are a family owned business in Great Dunmow, Essex and I of course cannot recommend them highly enough. I have been a customer of theirs for many years and sourced much outdoor clothing from them. Specialising in quality outdoor clothing, footwear and Jacks of Dunmow – Outdoor specialists equipment, the current hi-tech products are a far cry from the simple ‘necessity’ products available in the early 1950s. In recent years, the company has responded to the increasing popularity of participation sports, and have developed specialist ranges of footwear, clothing and equipment for a wide range of outdoor activities. From skiing and boarding to trekking and mountaineering, Jacks can supply you with the best clothing and footwear available, along with the hard-to-find experience that only comes from a well trained staff who have used – and, more importantly, relied upon – many of the products themselves during their travels around the world. Please visit their site and see what they may have for you!
August was a step up, but not quite the one I had intended. I resumed “Stair Running” this month and the lack of use of certain leg muscles rendered me almost unable to waddle for over a week. Nonetheless, the stats are: 32 km Rowing 36 Miles Running 224 Flights of stairs (up and down!) 24 Miles Tyre Pulling With the onset of the Rugby World Cup, discipline is going to have to be key otherwise the Saturday morning training sessions could be a harder than planned! I am hoping to be able to reveal some good news Re: sponsorship this week. Watch this space……..
